Students may not be old enough to vote, but as the folks who are directly experiencing the outcomes of voting and budgeting in their community, they have advice, ideas, and stories that should be considered critical to creating high-quality, equitable educational experiences in Birmingham and Jefferson County School Districts.


With this in mind, The Flourish chose to engage students in a creative experience to learn how school policy and budget are developed as well as what it looks like to become an advocate for causes they care about.


Meet Jahman Hill, Executive Director of The Flourish Alabama. As an artist, activist, educator and dreamer, Jahman shares deep insight and a valuable call to action for us all.
